The Colour Of Numbers

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

I can identify colours now with a reasonable success rate, and I like counting (though I still always start at four or five, ignoring one to three). The thing I’m probably best at though is catching – don’t tell DeeDee but I’m better than her, but she’s better at throwing. (Incidentally, I say whoops-a-deedee when I fall over..)

Legoland

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

We went to Legoland on Tuesday. It was very busy, but at least it didn’t rain and we had a good time.. now I like to call our Lego box Legoland when I’m asking for it to be taken out! Talk about brand recognition..

Hello Auntie Charlotte!

(PS my Dad has a hangover!)

Pride comes before a fall

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

I used my potty today to do a poo: I was a bit disappointed though when it turned out to be the World’s Smallest Poo..

Edit: I made up for it later, in the potty again.

Falling In

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

I fell into the paddling pool on The Level today. We’d been scootering around the skate part for a while, and afterwards I was showing off how close I could get to the pool without falling in. Then I fell in! Then I jumped in and out and ran around for ages despite the fact it was chilly.

My cousin Big James is notorious for falling into any available body of water: well, they say that blood is thicker than water, so me too..

Slide Etiquette

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

If you’re in front of me on the slide and you don’t go down, I’m going to give you a push with hand or foot. This got me (well, Mum) in big trouble at softplay last week, she had to beat a hasty retreat from an irate mum. Honestly, some children don’t realise that the slide isn’t going to slide itself!

Banned from the Roxy

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

I have been forbidden squash since I poured a cup into my potty today. It wouldn’t have been so bad if I hadn’t missed by quite so much..

Drinking

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

I like to help myself to the drinks in the fridge – juice, smoothie, or milk. I usually make a mess, whether I try to pour it into a cup or out of the carton, so they are often put up on the counter out of reach.

So today I was thrilled to see a juice-like substance in the fridge in a little bottle with a handy drinking spout, and I helped myself to some. Mmmm! No, EEURGH.. salad dressing. Gus-ting.

Ankle Bit And Ankle Biters

Friday, May 16th, 2008

I have hurt my ankle, probably from extreme jumping: turned it over, maybe, I’m kind of limping about and going “ow” every now and again.

I didn’t do it at the library though – they had BabyJam on so getting near the books was tricky what with there being babies everywhere. I picked on the one with the most over-protective dad to give a cuddle to as well, he asked Mum to “take that boy away from my baby”.

Dis One! Aden! Dis One! Aden!

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I have really taken to books recently: I (pretend to) read them, and I ask for them to be read to me. For a while I’ve been able to say the right words when reading, say, a Maisy book: pirate, queen, firefighter (which comes out a lot more like “flowerfighter”), ding-dong, Charlie, Cyril, Meow (for Little Black Cat), Luah (for Talullah). I like Monkey Puzzle when I can get Mum to read it: wait a sec, I have a little pile of books here I’ve brought downstairs for my reading pleasure: two – no three – Charlie-And-Lolas, Paddington Bear, Room On The Broom (I am immune to dragon-fear, unlike Daisy) and New Baby. Mostly a random selection, though, maybe Mum will take me to the library this week and I can make random choices from a much larger selection!
